IG-Plus and IG-TL

At Fronius, two RS485 inputs of the e.manager nD are used. Only the RS485-III interface can then still be used to connect other inverter manufacturers!

Connect the inverters to each other with a patch cable. Make sure that you always connect OUT with IN.

At the last inverter, please connect wires 3 and 4, as well as wires 5 and 6 with each other.

Disconnect the cable from the last inverter to the e.manager  and connect the individual wires to the e.manager as follows.

e.manager RS485 I Terminal A <=> PIN 3 (green-white)
e.manager RS485 I Terminal B <=> PIN 6 (green)
e.manager RS485 II Terminal A <=> PIN 4 (blue)
e.manager RS485 II Terminal B <=> PIN 5 (blue-white)

Optionally you can also connect a RS422 to  RS485 converter in between. This converter can then ONLY be connected to RS485-II or RS485-III.

Inverter types

All, one inverter must have a data manager. Max. 10 inverters.

For Modbus use, a Datamager must be installed in a WR.

Connect the inverters to each other with a patch cable. Make sure that you always connect OUT with IN.

At the last inverter, please connect wires 3 and 4, as well as wires 5 and 6 with each other.

Connect the data manager from the last inverter to the e.manager.

Leave all settings unchanged (protocol: Solarnet).

Connect to the Datamanager and activate the Modbus.

With this variant, all inverters are addressed directly via an IP address.

Call up the web page of the Fronius inverter.

RS422 ID

The RS422 ID must be set to 1.

IP Address

Assign a unique IP address to each inverter.

Fronius

In this variant, only one inverter is addressed directly via an IP address, the other inverters are then queried via RS422.

Inverter configuration

 

Please proceed as follows for each inverter

RS422 ID

Assign a unique RS422 ID to each inverter. The IDs must start at 1 and be consecutive!!!

Leave all other settings at the default settings.

 

For the inverter with the data logger

IP address

Assign a unique IP address to the inverter.

 

Call up the Fronius inverter's website.

Communication settings

Data output via Modbus:               tcp
